Abstract. The continuous casting process is one of the initial operations in entire metal forming chain used metallurgical industry. phenomena solidification and unification properties that occur during slab are highly dependent on steel composition purity metal. high cleanliness determinant good quality final products, without internal cracks or inhomogeneities mechanical, thermal electrical properties. Therefore, production goals to avoid non-metallic inclusions molten by intensifying their removal processes. One most important metallurgy equipment responsible for cleaning ladle furnace, where special mixing processes executed increase unfavourable elements. Another critical piece tundish, located just before casting, which can additionally improve microstructure homogeneity. investigations presented paper centred development an advanced Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) model flow behaviour inside tundish. key element include effect additional electromagnetic stirring device hence its role this often omitted practical research, but direct influence has a clear impact characteristics formed metallic parts under further processing operations. optimization tundish essential from industrial point view. includes detailed analysis energy distributions predict understand active dead zones regions with stagnant velocity distribution. As outcome such developed coupled electromagnetic/fluid dynamic model, optimizing control product's possible.
