چکیده

Abstract The charge-integrating hybrid silicon pixel detector JUNGFRAU has found widespread use at free-electron laser and synchrotron facilities. was designed for with hard X-rays; yet, because of its low noise, high dynamic range, position resolution, scalable size, is interest soft X-ray applications. We discuss improvements the readout chip alterations entrance window back sensor that facilitate low-energy detection. first case improved system a beamline demonstrates single photon sensitivity down to 800 eV. At lower energies, noise hinders resolution photons. propose couple charge-multiplying low-gain avalanche diode (LGAD) sensors resolve photons minimum energy 250

InGrid-based X-ray detector for low background searches

An X-ray photon detector based on the highly granular readout of an InGrid is described. This gaseous detector, based on a highly pixelized readout chip with an integrated Micromegas grid, allows for a topological analysis of each event and, thus, a distinction between a charged track and a photon conversion is possible in most cases. Because of the high granularity, an energy resolution of 5.2...

Towards hybrid pixel detectors for energy-dispersive or soft X-ray photon science

JUNGFRAU (adJUstiNg Gain detector FoR the Aramis User station) is a two-dimensional hybrid pixel detector for photon science applications at free-electron lasers and synchrotron light sources. The JUNGFRAU 0.4 prototype presented here is specifically geared towards low-noise performance and hence soft X-ray detection. The design, geometry and readout architecture of JUNGFRAU 0.4 correspond to t...

An in-vivo study on the energy dependence of X-ray biological effectiveness

Background: The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) has attributed the same relative risk for X and gamma radiations of all energies. Several studies have proven that the biological effect of low energy photon is more than that of higher ones. The assessment of risks is important due to the wide use of low energy X-rays for mammography screening and other diagnostic appli...
