Affect-Dynamic Signatures of Psychosis Risk Across Multiple Time Scales and Contexts

There is a critical need for identifying time-sensitive and cost-effective markers of psychosis risk early in the illness course. One solution may lie affect dynamics, or fluctuations across time, which have been demonstrated to predict transitions psychopathology. Across three studies, current research first comprehensively investigate dynamics relation subthreshold positive symptoms (perceptual aberration magical ideation) negative (social anhedonia) spectrum. multiple time scales contexts, we modeled from inexpensive laboratory paradigms social-media text. Findings provided strong evidence linked heightened magnitude frequency affective response emotional materials. Alternatively, showed modest association with persistence baseline states. These affect-dynamic signatures provide insight on distinct developmental pathways could facilitate risk-detection approaches.
