Alzheimer biomarkers esteem by sampling Kantorovich algorithm

چکیده

In this paper, we take advantage of the reconstruction properties sampling Kantorovich (SK) algorithm to estimate volume human brain for quantification Alzheimer's biomarkers. At first, goodness reconstructions is evaluated, comparing it different interpolation methods by means Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) index; then stereological Cavalieri/Point-counting technique used infer volumetric data starting from knowledge planar sections. The comparison achieved results with synthetic references confirms good performances new methodology.

Biomarkers of Alzheimer disease.

A definitive diagnosis of Alzheimer disease (AD) depends on finding widespread neurofibrillary tangles and plentiful neuritic plaques in the brain of an individual with a clinical diagnosis of progressive dementia. Using contemporary diagnostic criteria, the antemortem diagnosis of probable AD in centers specialized for AD is confirmed 80% to 90% of the time. There is the suspicion, but no firm...

Fluid biomarkers in Alzheimer disease.

Research progress has provided detailed understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease (AD). This knowledge has been translated into new drug candidates with putative disease-modifying effects, which are now being tested in clinical trials. The promise of effective therapy has created a great need for biomarkers able to detect AD in the predementia phase, because drugs will pr...

Discovering Alzheimer Genetic Biomarkers Using Bayesian Networks

Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) contribute most of the genetic variation to the human genome. SNPs associate with many complex and common diseases like Alzheimer's disease (AD). Discovering SNP biomarkers at different loci can improve early diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. Bayesian network provides a comprehensible and modular framework for representing interactions between gen...

Biomarkers for early detection of Alzheimer pathology.

The increasing prevalence of Alzheimer's disease and the devastating consequences of late-life dementia motivates the drive to develop diagnostic biomarkers to reliably identify the pathology associated with this disorder. Strategies to accomplish this include the detection of altered levels of tau and amyloid in cerebrospinal fluid, the use of structural MRI to identify disease-specific patter...

Proteomic Biomarkers in Alzheimer s disease

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a major problem of health in developed countries. From a pathogenic perspective, this prevalent form of dementia is a polygenic/complex disorder in which over 600 defective genes distributed across the human genome may be involved, in conjunction with epigenetic aberrations and diverse environmental risk factors [1]. The abnormal expression of genes and subsequent po...
