An Assessment of Relations between Vegetation Green FPAR and Vegetation Indices through a Radiative Transfer Model

چکیده

The fraction of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation (FPAR) is widely used in remote sensing-based production models to estimate gross or net primary production. forest canopy composed primarily vegetation (PAV, green leaves) and non-photosynthetic (NPV e.g., branches), which absorb PAR but only the by PAV for photosynthesis. Green FPAR (the PAV) essential accurate estimation GPP. In this study, scattering arbitrary inclined leaves (SAIL) model was reconfigured partition canopies. characteristics its relationships with spectral indices (NDVI, EVI, EVI2, SAVI) were analyzed. results showed that varied structure. forests high coverage, close total FPAR, while open forests, far smaller than FPAR. Plant area index had more important impacts on proportion optical properties PAV. significant found between EVI suitable describe variation

Inversion of a radiative transfer model for estimating vegetation LAI and chlorophyll in a heterogeneous grassland

Radiative transfer models have seldom been applied for studying heterogeneous grassland canopies. Here, the potential of radiative transfer modeling to predict LAI and leaf and canopy chlorophyll contents in a heterogeneous Mediterranean grassland is investigated. The widely used PROSAIL model was inverted with canopy spectral reflectance measurements by means of a look-up table (LUT). Canopy s...

An inverse radiative transfer model of the vegetation canopy based on automatic differentiation

This paper presents an inverse model of radiation transfer processes occurring in the solar domain in vegetation plant canopies. It uses a gradient method to minimize the misfit between model simulation and observed radiant fluxes plus the deviation from prior information on the unknown model parameters. The second derivative of the misfit approximates uncertainty ranges for the estimated model...

Intercalibration of Vegetation Indices – an Update

In 2003 we addressed the issue of intercalibration of vegetation indices from different satellite-based optical sensor systems with differing spectral response functions in the visible and near-infrared bands (Steven et al., 2003). We used a database of spectroradiometric measurements made over a range of canopy densities, soils and foliage colours to simulate vegetation indices (NDVI, SAVI and...
