Abstract Disassembly is the first operation in remanufacture, repair and recycling of products that have reached end their service life. Both productivity flexibility should be considered when using robots to carry out disassembly due complexities associated with returned for remanufacturing. Human-robot collaboration a flexible semi-automated approach mitigate against effects uncertainties frequency, quantity quality those End-of-Life (EoL) products. This paper presents new experimental robotic cell comprising two collaborative human operator. The operator can work safely tandem individual, parallel or common tasks shared workspace. Active compliance control employed by achieve complex safe human-robot interaction. communicates method based on touch sensing combined position control. provides short literature review focusing disassembly. It then describes demonstration cell. Finally, details case study highlighting capabilities shows automation feasible has potential release people from tedious repetitive work.
