An extended gradient-enhanced damage-plasticity model for concrete considering nonlinear creep and failure due to creep

چکیده

For high stress levels, the dependence of creep strain rate concrete on acting is nonlinear. Furthermore, very levels may lead to a critical growth microcracks resulting in material failure. lifetime assessment sensitive structures by means numerical simulations, realistic description nonlinear crucial. However, many models are formulated for either time-independent behavior, or time-dependent restricted linear creep. This motivation extending damage-plasticity model, aiming at unified and computationally efficient approach representing highly behavior concrete. Well established approaches modeling evolution properties, inelastic deformation, damage, shrinkage serve as basis considering failure due sustained stress. The extended model validated comprehensive experimental results from literature.

Damage in Prestressed Concrete Structures due to Creep and Shrinkage of Concrete

The theory of concrete creep and shrinkage has not been regarded as part of what has been understood as damage mechanics. However, these inelastic phenomena do result in significant damages to structures, including not only distributed cracking, which is damage in classical sense, but also damage in the form of excessive deflection which puts the structure out of service. It is for this reason ...

Brittle creep, damage and time-to-failure in rocks

We propose a numerical model based on static fatigue laws in order to model the time-dependent damage and deformation of rocks under creep. An empirical relation between time-to-failure and applied stress is used to simulate the behavior of each element of our finite element model. We first review available data on creep experiments, in order to study how the material properties and the loading...

An anisotropic tertiary creep damage constitutive model for anisotropic materials

When an anisotropic material is subject to creep conditions and a complex state of stress, an anisotropic creep damage behavior is observed. Previous research has focused on the anisotropic creep damage behavior of isotropic materials but few constitutive models have been developed for anisotropic creeping solids. This paper describes the development of a new anisotropic tertiary creep damage c...

A Nonlinear Creep-damage Constitutive Model of Mudstone Based on the Fractional Calculus Theory

During the flood development in an oil field, the creep characteristic of mudstone is one of the important factors causing casing damage. In this study, based on the theory of fractional order differential and taking into account the creep damage evolution rules, a fractional nonlinear creep-damage model is proposed to reflect the instantaneous deformation in loading processes and the accelerat...

Presenting an experimental creep model for rock salt

During the recent decades, the design and construction of underground spaces into rock salt have been particularly regarded for storing petroleum fluids, natural gas, and compressed air energy, and also for disposing nuclear and chemical wastes. The rock salt hosting such spaces will be subjected to various types of monotonic/cyclic, short-term/long-term stresses during the construction and/or ...
