چکیده

Abstract After it was found that the gravity gradients observed by Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) satellite could be significantly improved an advanced calibration, a reprocessing project for entire mission data set initiated ESA performed GOCE High-level processing facility (GOCE HPF). One part of activity delivering solutions, where level 1b 2 serve as input global recovery. well-established approach analysis observations is so-called time-wise approach. Basic characteristics solutions only are included to remain independent any other observables emphasis put on stochastic modeling observations’ uncertainties. As consequence, provide GOCE-only model realistic uncertainty description in terms full covariance matrix coefficients. Within this contribution, we review discuss impact applied computation new GO_CONS_EGM_TIM_RL06 solution. The reflects Earth’s static during its operation. nearly all models, represented spherical harmonic expansion, with maximum degree 300. contributing presented, internal consistency demonstrated. updated solution nicely meets official requirements mean accuracy about cm geoid height 0.6 mGal anomalies at ESA’s target spatial resolution 100 km. Compared RL05 predecessor, three kinds improvements shown, i.e., (1) increases 10–25%, (2) more (3) local reduction systematic errors order centimeters.

Goce Gravity Field Processing

In the course of the satellite mission GOCE (Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer), dedicated for the exploitation of the Earth's gravity field, with a planned launch in summer 2006, the data processing will be a huge numerical and computational intensive task. In this paper we will describe a direct approach developed and implemented in Graz for the derivation of a model f...

Contribution Analysis of the Gravity Field Recovered from Goce

Gravity field modeling in the case of GOCE is based on a combination of the SST contribution for the low wavelength part and on gravitational gradiometry for the spatial details. The gradiomter part of the solution is derived from a combination of the gradient components Vxx, Vyy, Vzz. Variance components in the domain of spherical harmonics allow the analysis of the characteristic contribution...

Gravity Field Analysis from the Satellite Missions CHAMP and GOCE

This work describes global gravity field modeling from observations of the CHAMP and the GOCE satellite mission. In the case of CHAMP the so-called Energy Balance Approach is applied to measurements of GPS high-low tracking of the low orbiting CHAMP spacecraft. In the case of GOCE gravity gradiometry is the main observable. The experience gained processing real data of the CHAMP satellite missi...

Global Gravity Field Determination by Combining Goce and Complementary Data

GOCE gravity fields define a new standard concerning spectral resolution of satellite-only models, and provide a very high precision in the longand medium wavelength part of the gravity field up to a spherical harmonic degree of about 250. Combining GOCE with GRACE data, which gives in addition very accurate information for the long wavelength part, results in the current performance status of ...

Evaluation of the first GOCE static gravity field models using terrestrial gravity, vertical deflections and EGM2008 quasigeoid heights

Recently, four global geopotential models (GGMs) were computed and released based on the first two months of data collected by the GOCE (Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer) dedicated satellite gravity field mission. Given that GOCE is a technologically complex mission and different processing strategies were applied to real space-collected GOCE data for the first time, ev...
