An Integrated GIS-Based ANP Analysis for Selecting Solar Farm Installation Locations: Case Study in Cumra Region, Turkey

With the depletion of traditional energy sources, which are defined as fossil fuels, importance renewable sources has increased even more. Renewable is a sustainable source that can be reproduced with use existing resources and almost no harm to environment. Solar one leading types among an inexhaustible for humanity used generations. Selecting appropriate site installation solar power plants important decision increases efficiency farm. In order minimize negative environmental, economic social effects in farm location studies, all criteria affecting study should taken into consideration. This presents application combining analytical network process, multi-criteria evaluation methods, GIS, determine most suitable locations Cumra Region, Konya, Turkey. Six main have been selection this area. Criteria maps were prepared using GIS software weight values determined from process combined suitability map. Suitability map was divided three categories low, moderate high by equidistant classification method.
