چکیده
Analysis of ground movement rates along the coastline and upper sections Ventnor landslide complex was carried out utilizing Persistent Scatterer Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar methods using Sentinel-1 SAR data from 2015 to 2019 (four years). Results were compared with rainfall data, historical investigation records monitoring surveys at relate observations geology, geomorphology rainfall. Decomposition InSAR viewing geometries vertical horizontal aligned well previous ground-based studies. Subsidence −9.8 mm a−1 Lowtherville Graben heave +8.5 south Park observed. east-west geometry results showed an eastward displacement approximately 12.4 Park, a westward −3.7 throughout built up town, indicating displacing more in eastern direction than vertically. The cause this investigated by publicly available intrusive boreholes paired Interferometry, new model spanning parallel presented. No evidence significant observed heavily protected coastline, suggesting coastal defences comprised concrete aprons rip rap appear be effective management/landslide stabilisation tool when alone. mechanism increased stability is likely due combination toe weighting reduced erosion. A lag 13–20 days between high events subsequent peaks displacement, which shorter 29 day study. Similar prolonged resulting displacements also study demonstrates capabilities PSI methodology identifying same movements that conventional provide. By providing detailed analysis deformation landslide, we demonstrate small movements, validated existing surveys. can applied landslides urban environments worldwide, relatively cheap rapid resource for monitoring.

Landslide Activity Maps Generation by Means of Persistent Scatterer Interferometry
In this paper a methodology is proposed to elaborate landslide activity maps through the use of PS (Persistent Scatterer) data. This is illustrated through the case study of Tramuntana Range in the island of Majorca (Spain), where ALOS (Advanced Land Observing Satellite) images have been processed through a Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) technique during the period of 2007–2010. The ...
متن کاملPersistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) Technique for Landslide Characterization and Monitoring
The measurement of landslide superficial displacement often represents the most effective method for defining its behavior, allowing one to observe the relationship with triggering factors and to assess the effectiveness of the mitigation measures. Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) represents a powerful tool to measure landslide displacement, as it offers a synoptic view that can be rep...
متن کاملPersistent Scatterer Interferometry Using Adaptive Deformation Models
Because the quality assessment of Persistent Scatterers (PS) is dependent on the deformation model chosen, PS may be falsely rejected due to model imperfections. To accept these PS, more advanced deformation models should be used. However, the decreased rank of the estimation problem increases the chance of unwrapping errors. Therefore, advanced deformation models should only be applied when ne...
متن کاملAn Approach to Persistent Scatterer Interferometry
This paper describes a new approach to Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) data processing and analysis, which is implemented in the PSI chain of the Geomatics (PSIG) Division of CTTC. This approach includes three main processing blocks. In the first one, a set of correctly unwrapped and temporally ordered phases are derived, which are computed on Persistent Scatterers (PSs) that cover ho...
متن کاملPersistent Scatterer Interferometry Using Sentinel-1 Data
This paper is focused on deformation monitoring using a Persistent Scatterer Interferometry technique and the interferometric SAR data acquired by the Sentinel-1 satellite of the European Space Agency. The first part of the paper describes the procedure used to process and analyze Sentinel-1 interferometric SAR data. Two main approaches are described. The first one is a simplified Persistent Sc...
