An overview of superhydrophobic ceramic membrane surface modification for oil-water separation

چکیده
Abstract The discharge of oily wastewater and offshore oil spills contaminates the biotic aquatic environment ultimately result in destruction ecosystem. Recently, application ceramic membranes has gained prodigious attention due to its efficiency oil-water separation process. Ceramic developed from inorganic materials are considered as most promising technology for treatment industrial wastewater. Besides, different types superhydrophobic-superoleophilic substrates being using various substrate tailor purpose higher efficiency. Nonetheless, fouling clogging phenomena restrict performance membrane separation. This review emphasizes recent innovation on superhydrophobic methods modification recovery. It comprises an overview preparation technique techniques. Moreover, hydrophobic chemical agents consequent effects were discussed detail. Furthermore, technical challenges issues associated with applications discussed. Finally, future direction research cost-efficient approach produce filtration process is enumerated.
