An Overview of the Principles of Low-Temperature Superplasticity in Metallic Materials Processed by Severe Plastic Deformation

Low-temperature superplasticity (LTS) is crucial to reduce manufacturing cost and enhance the applications of superplastic forming. It well known that grain refinement key point decrease temperature at which attained. Therefore, ultrafine-grained (UFG) materials have become attractive for achieving LTS. Severe plastic deformation (SPD) techniques provide abnormal refinement, thus they been used achieve LTS in metallic materials. This paper overviews examines reports severely-deformed provides fundamentals via different SPD various classes including Al-, Mg-, Ti-based alloys. also gives a brief summary about effect microstructural requirements on with an emphasis size, type chemical composition boundaries alteration during deformation. In last section manuscript, main mechanism were explained.
