An SSM-PSO Based MPPT Scheme for Wind Driven DFIG System

In this work, a searching space minimization-based particle swarm optimization (SSM-PSO) scheme has been proposed for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind energy conversion system (WECS). DFIG displays non-linearity P – ω characteristics. So different types of conventional and optimization-based schemes are developed MPPT. The drawbacks the perturb observe (P&O) successfully abolished by SSM-PSO method. Because its weather-insensitive nature, P&O MPP results fluctuation output under sudden change speed. To avoid problem, minimum limits optimal rotor speed have determined scheme. Further, obtained employed to improve within non-linear curve. This initial confinement particles limited faster response system. Since is atmosphere sensitive, it avoids fluctuations an abrupt variation velocity. improved initialization part leads better dynamic characteristics compared existing schemes. implemented 2MW MATLAB Simulink showed satisfactory results.
