Analysing Morphological Errors in ESL Graduating Students’ Writing based on Surface Structure Taxonomy

Empirical studies have examined errors committed by ESL learners at different levels of study in terms its inconsistency with the standard form English grammar rules general. This study, on other hand, looked into morphological system a language that deals minimal units linguistic and meaning. By understanding from perspective, instructors may also be able to figure out specific causal factors can help devise their methods approach teaching. As performance graduates this country has been publicly lamented employers, focused writing products graduating students see common made understand interfering so any intervention initiatives improve proficiency objectively proposed. The data were procured mock exit test 60 public university. Theory Taxonomy Dulay or Surface Structure framework was used for analysis. treated quantitatively frequency counts occurred each category. findings indicate prevalent Omission category, followed Addition, Misformation Misordering. significant pedagogical implications developing remedial programmes students.
