Analysis of Friction in Total Knee Prosthesis during a Standard Gait Cycle

چکیده
Total knee arthroplasty is on the rise worldwide. Despite its success, revision surgeries are also increasing. According to American Joint Replacement Registry 2020, 3.3% of due wear, and 24.2% mechanical loosening. The combination shear stresses wear particles occurring at bone/implant interface can lead local osteolysis. Although partially driven by joint friction, relatively little known about evolution coefficient friction (CoF) during a gait cycle in total replacement. Here we describe CoF investigate association with kinematics (slide–roll-ratio), applied load, relative velocity. artificial was simulated cobalt–chromium condyle flat ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) tibial plateau, lubricated either water or proteinaceous solution. We found that not constant but fluctuates between values close 0 0.15. Cross-correlation suggested this primarily an effect slide–roll ratio contact pressure. There no difference Knowledge behavior will help increase accuracy future computational models

Knee Kinematic Improvement After Total Knee Replacement Using a Simplified Quantitative Gait Analysis Method
Objectives: The aim of this study was to extract suitable spatiotemporal and kinematic parameters to determine how Total Knee Replacement (TKR) alters patients’ knee kinematics during gait, using a rapid and simplified quantitative two-dimensional gait analysis procedure. Methods: Two-dimensional kinematic gait pattern of 10 participants were collected before and after the TKR surgery,...

متن کاملSystematic analysis of painful total knee prosthesis, a diagnostic algorithm.
Remaining pain after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a common observation in about 20% of postoperative patients; where in about 60% of these knees require early revision surgery within five years. Obvious causes of this pain could be identified simply with clinical examinations and standard radiographs. However, unexplained painful TKA still remains a challenge for the surgeon. The management...
