Analysis of genetic variability and character relationship in rice (Oryza sativa L.) seed and seedling traits

Eight rice genotypes with different genetic backgrounds were evaluated for grain length, width, length width ratio, thickness, 1000 weight, seed germination percent, shoot root and ratio. The variance (δ^2 g), phenotypic p), covariance (PCV), genotypic coefficient of variation (GCV), heritability (h_b^2), advance (GA), in percent mean (GA %) correlation all calculated. experiment was conducted using a Randomized Block Design three replications controlled environment the laboratory Department Agriculture at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science Technology University Gopalganj June 2021. For studied characters, analysis revealed significant difference genotypes. PCV values greater than GCV found characteristics, indicating that they influenced by non-additive gene action rather environmental factors selection improving these traits would be beneficial.
