چکیده

On 21 May 2021 (UT), Yangbi Ms6.4 and Maduo Ms7.4 earthquakes occurred in mainland China. This paper analyzed the ionospheric perturbations possibly related to earthquake, based on global positioning system (GPS) total electron content (TEC) ionosphere map (GIM) TEC data. We identified GPS anomalies by sliding quartile, statistical analysis. After eliminating days with high solar activity levels strong geomagnetic disturbances, time series analysis of data showed that there were significant from 5 10 May. mainly positive anomalies. obtained spatial temporal distributions using natural neighbor interpolation (NNI). The results distributed seismogenic zone surrounded epicenters earthquakes, indicating they may be earthquakes. From GIM difference map, we found enhancement its magnetic conjugate area at 10:00–12:00 (UT) 6 discussed our according lithosphere-atmosphere-ionosphere coupling mechanism. Finally, results, suggested affect through electric field thermal generated during process coupling.

Monitoring the TEC variation using pattern matching method during earthquakes as determined from ground based TEC measurement and satellite data

Total electron content (TEC) data, obtained from GPS satellites can be used as a tool for extracting earthquake precursor. In this paper, a pattern matching technique is used for monitoring TEC variation during and prior to the earthquake. For the experiment two major earthquake events i.e. Bhutan earthquake on 21st September 2009 and Nepal earthquake on 25th April 2015 are considered for analy...

Estimation Method of Ionospheric TEC Distribution using Single Frequency Measurements of GPS Signals

The satellite-to-ground communications are influenced by ionospheric plasma which varies depending on solar and geomagnetic activities as well as regions and local times. With the expansion of use of the space, continuous monitoring of the ionospheric plasma has become an important issue. In Global Positioning System (GPS), the ionospheric delay, which is proportional to ionospheric total elect...

Seismoionospheric GPS total electron content anomalies observed before the 12 May 2008 Mw7.9 Wenchuan earthquake

[1] The global ionospheric map (GIM) is used to observe variations in the total electron content (TEC) of the global positioning system (GPS) associated with 35 M 6.0 earthquakes that occurred in China during the 10-year period of 1 May 1998 to 30 April 2008. The statistical result indicates that the GPS TEC above the epicenter often pronouncedly decreases on day 3–5 before 17 M 6.3 earthquakes...
