Power transformer, as a crucial equipment for power transmission, frequently suffers winding deformation defects, owing to the impact of huge external short-circuit current in actual operation. To resist rapid deterioration online monitoring states is imperative, depending on thorough understanding defects. Unfortunately, there are not much related research form and location, two key objects diagnosed. In this paper, we concentrate analysis investigation its high-probability location deeply understand deformation. For deformation, three-dimensional finite element model transformer established obtain extent force, buckling low-voltage designed analyze mechanism under force induced by current. simulation models characteristics different structures three locations (the conductor transposition area, area with imbalanced amp-turns uneven circumferential distribution force). Then clarify possibility these areas, defined locations. Finally, analyzed results found be highly consistent demonstrating correctness methods conclusions. Next stage, will provide effective theoretical support diagnosis optimal design structure.
