Analytic Optimization of the Halbach Array Slotless Motor Considering Stator Yoke Saturation

Hybrid subdomain analysis is utilized to optimize the design of a high-speed compressor motor. Permanent magnets (PMs) are arranged in Halbach array and bounded by carbon fiber sleeve. The stator core does not have slot structure, so that it advantageous reducing iron loss. Since saturation takes place, magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) used find permeability depending on flux density yoke. Furthermore, since infinitely permeable analysis, solution obtained whole regions: shaft, PM, air gap, coil, results hybrid compared with those finite-element (FEA). Very close matching torque even under yoke saturation. height optimized against rotor outer radius torque, power density, efficiency maximized, while radius, stack length, coil area fixed.
