چکیده

We present the formulation and implementation of an analytical gradient algorithm for extended multiconfiguration quasidegenerate perturbation theory (XMCQDPT2) with resolvent-fitting approximation by Granovsky. This is powerful when optimizing molecular configurations a moderate-sized active space many electronic states. First, we powerfulness accuracy approximations compared to canonical XMCQDPT2 theory. Then, demonstrate utility current in frequency analyses, minimum energy conical intersection geometries retinal chromophore model RPSB6 evaluating nuclear gradients there are Furthermore, parallelize using OpenMP/MPI hybrid approach. Additionally, report computational cost parallel efficiency program.

Second Order Perturbation Theory for Embedded Eigenvalues

We study second order perturbation theory for embedded eigenvalues of an abstract class of self-adjoint operators. Using an extension of the Mourre theory, under assumptions on the regularity of bound states with respect to a conjugate operator, we prove upper semicontinuity of the point spectrum and establish the Fermi Golden Rule criterion. Our results apply to massless Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonia...

Photodissociation mechanisms of the CO2(2+) dication studied using multi-state multiconfiguration second-order perturbation theory.

Employing the multi-state multiconfiguration second-order perturbation theory (MS-CASPT2) and complete active space self-consistent field (CASSCF) methods, the geometries, relative energies (T(v)') to the ground state (X(3)Σg(-)), adiabatic excited energies, and photodissociation mechanisms and corresponding kinetic energy releases for the lower-lying 14 electronic states of the CO2 (2+) ion ar...

Spin component scaling in multiconfiguration perturbation theory.

We investigate a term-by-term scaling of the second-order energy correction obtained by perturbation theory (PT) starting from a multiconfiguration wave function. The total second-order correction is decomposed into several terms, based on the level and the spin pattern of the excitations. To define individual terms, we extend the same spin/different spin categorization of spin component scalin...

Second-order perturbation theory for scattering from heterogeneous rough surfaces.

We propose a model to calculate scattering from inhomogeneous three-dimensional, rough surfaces on top of a stratified medium. The roughness is made up of an ensemble of deposits with various shapes and permittivities whose heights remain small with respect to the wavelength of the incident light. This geometry is encountered in the remote sensing of soil surfaces, or in optics wherever there a...

Second-order perturbation theory for the parametrically driven NLS solitons

The perturbation theory based on the Riemann-Hilbert problem is constructed for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The second-order equations for the spectral data describing the soliton-wave interaction are obtained. The theory is applied to the parametrically driven, damped nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The parametrically driven NLS soliton is shown to become unstable, when the driving str...
