چکیده

Abstract As building blocks of acoustic metamaterials, resonant scatterers have demonstrated their ability to modulate the effective fluid parameters, which subsequently possess extreme properties such as negative bulk modulus or mass density. Promising applications been shown extraordinary absorption, focusing, and abnormal refraction for instance. However, waves can be further controlled in Willis materials by harnessing coupling parameters. In this work, we derive closed forms parameters from transfer matrix three asymmetric reciprocal one-dimensional configurations exhibit differences terms coefficients. The way occurs spatially unit cells is highlighted. addition, analysis shows absence odd configurations. These are validated against experimental numerical results This article paves a novel physical understanding engineering use materials.

Modulated phononic crystals: Non-reciprocal wave propagation and Willis materials

Research on breaking time-reversal symmetry in wave phenomena is a growing area of interest in the field of phononic crystals and metamaterials aiming to realize one-way propagation devices which have many potential technological applications. Here we investigate wave propagation in phononic crystals, periodic laminates in particular, where both elastic moduli and mass density are modulated in ...

Transmission properties of one dimensional fractal structures

In this paper, the optical properties of one dimensional fractal structures are investigated. We consider six typical fractal photonic structures: the symmetric dual cantor-like fractal structure, the asymmetric dual cantor-like fractal structure, the single cantor-like fractal structure, the symmetric dual golden-section fractal structure, the asymmetric dual golden-section fractal structure a...

Tunneling and resonant conductance in one-dimensional molecular structures

We present a theory of tunneling and resonant transitions in one-dimensional molecular systems which is based on Green s function theory of electron sub-barrier scattering off the structural units (or functional groups) of a molecular chain. We show that the many-electron effects are of paramount importance in electron transport and they are effectively treated using a formalism of subbarrier s...
