Analyzing movement behavior of zebrafish in different sized confined areas

Movement behavior of zebrafish (Danio rerio) was analysed according to different sizes observation arena (four sizes:and ). The separated into corner, boundary and central areas based on experimental data. results showed that the shapes were accordingly in arena. Individuals stayed zone for a substantial proportion (approximately 55-58 %) period while corner they shortest time 12-14 %). parameters (speed, acceleration, etc.) each individual varied speed highest size acceleration . These reveal movement behaviors affected by arenas, at larger move more actively compared smaller sizes. However, Transition probability matrices (TPMs) moving between stable. findings imply there is stereotypic inner state maintains basic animals. Information from this work would provide backgrounds real-life process mechanism be useful monitoring response environmental changes practical aspect applicable wide range fields including pharmacology, neurology, genetics.
