چکیده

Background: Sealers with antimicrobial properties play an important role in endodontic therapy success especially against Enterococcus faecalis infection found failed root canal therapy. Addition of antibiotic agents to sealers may show significant increase their antibacterial both anaerobic and aerobic microbes. The purpose the present study was evaluate efficacy Kerr pulp sealer (EWT) combination 10% amoxicillin E. post-root treatment viability faecalis on first seventh day. Methods: A total 60 extracted human mandibular premolar teeth were decoronated after initial decontamination 1% NaOCl. Root length standardized 12 mm. Canal instrumentation done using ProTaper Universal file system till size F2 5.25% It then infected a pure strain for period four days. Obturation plain sealer, (n=30) sealer-antibiotic combination, (n=30). Half sectioned at 24 hours (S, SA) other half seven days obturation (S7, SA7). All samples stained SYTO9 propidium iodide imaging under Confocal Laser Scanning microscope. Statistical analysis performed statistical software SPSS v. 17.0 (SPSS Windows; Inc, Chicago, IL). Data analysed One Way ANOVA post hoc Tukey test determine significance p value < 0.01 considered significant. Results: Statistically differences observed green red ratio between group S (9.561976) S7 (0.435418) (p 0.01). There no difference SA (mean ratio, (0.70431) SA7 0.85184). Conclusions: Antibiotics added effectively eradicated post-obturation. However, days, as effective combination.

Antimicrobial Effects of AH26 Sealer/Antibiotic Combinations Against Enterococcus Faecalis

INTRODUCTION The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the antimicrobial effects of two antibiotics added to AH26 sealer against Enterococcus faecalis (EF). MATERIALS AND METHODS The antimicrobial effects of two antibiotic (amoxicillin and doxycycline) that were added separately to AH26 sealer was evaluated by using the agar diffusion test and in vitro human root inoculation method. ...

Evaluation of efficacy of combinations of five endodontic sealers with five antibiotics against Enterococcus Faecalis - An in-vitro study.

BACKGROUND To evaluate and compare in vitro the antibacterial efficacy of five antibiotics when added individually to five endodontic sealers against Enterococcus faecalis (EF). MATERIALS & METHODS This controlled trial with systematic allocation method was carried out to detect the combined antibacterial activity of five endodontic sealers (Kerr sealer EWT, Endomethasone, AH26, AH Plus, Roek...

Diode Laser and Calcium Hydroxide for Elimination of Enterococcus Faecalis in Root Canal

Introduction: The ultimate goal of endodontic treatment is to eliminate the bacterial infection in the root canal system. While mechanical debridement combined with chemical irrigation removes the bulk of microorganisms, residual bacteria are readily detectable in approximately one-half of teeth just prior to obturation. Laser light can be used to destroy bacteria. This in vitro study was perfo...

Antimicrobial Activity of Three Root Canal Irrigants on Enterococcus Faecalis: An in Vitro Study

INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to compare the antimicrobial effects of 2.5% Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHX) and BioPure MTAD (MTAD) on Enterococcus (E) faecalis-contaminated root canals of human extracted teeth. MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventy human intact extracted single-rooted teeth with straight root canal randomly divided into 5 groups: positive contro...

Confocal laser scanning, scanning electron, and transmission electron microscopy investigation of Enterococcus faecalis biofilm degradation using passive and active sodium hypochlorite irrigation within a simulated root canal model

Root canal irrigation is an important adjunct to control microbial infection. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 2.5% (wt/vol) sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) agitation on the removal, killing, and degradation of Enterococcus faecalis biofilm. A total of 45 root canal models were manufactured using 3D printing with each model comprising an 18 mm length simulated root canal of ap...
