Application of photofission reaction to identify high-enriched uranium by bremsstrahlung photons

The applicability of the photofission reaction ratio (PFRR) method to identify high-enriched uranium is studied by switching photon source from Gaussian spectrum a bremsstrahlung spectrum. combination 6 and 11 MeV energy was used in previous study for applying PFRR because cross sections between 235U 238U at these two energies differ significantly. A parametric conducted with incident electron 7.0 result showed that electrons generate similar reactions as 6.0 photons, while 13.5 found give even better results considering measurement noise contributed multiple neutron emission, (?, 2n) reaction. Bremsstrahlung photons were injected into 1 mm thick metal target varying enrichment. increases linearly enrichment, provide higher sensitivity than owing total reactions.
