Application of Quaternary Ammonium Compounds as Compatibilizers for Polymer Blends and Polymer Composites—A Concise Review

A wide variety of quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs) have escalated the attraction researchers to explore application QACs. The frequently been synthesized through alkylation or quaternization tertiary amines with alkyl halides. Recently, QACs applied compatibilize polymer blends and composites in improving their thermo-mechanical properties. This concise review concentrates on two types as compatibilizers for composites. that were effectively are surfactants (QASs) ionic liquids (QAILs). They chosen discussion because unique chemical structure which can interact blend composite components. influence QASs QAILs properties is also described. could be helpful induce more novel ideas this research area.
