Abstract In the current context of population growth and climate change, it is essential to effectively manage groundwater resources, improve their quality, determine behaviour certain contaminants. Groundwater quality can be worsened most often by anthropogenic factors but also altered natural depending on chemical signatures water sources (i.e., hydrochemical reactions) as a result mixing processes. these cases, use calculations multivariate statistical analysis (MSA) methods crucial for determining reactions that occur, origin fate detected compounds, ions or parameters, system. Thus, ascertain processes affect composition quality) bodies, this information needed designing management strategies exploit aquifers in sustainable way. However, are rarely employed, few investigations consider them focus urban aquifers. Here, other MSA major environmental isotopes utilized an aquifer located rural area associated with Niebla-Posadas aquifer, Spain, where has deteriorated due geogenic factors. This study proves usefulness deriving (1) properly exploitation aquifers, (2) avoid deterioration (3) identify reasons behind poor quality.
