Applying Support Vector Regression to Predict Structure in Image Completion
Image completion is a technique widely used that automatically removes objects or repairs damaged portions of image. However, information regarding the original image is often lacking in structure reconstruction, and as a result, images with complex structures are difficult to restore. This study proposed a support vector regression-oriented image completion (SVR-IC) method, the goal of which i...
متن کاملThe Effect of Inquiry-based Learning Method on Students’ Academic Achievement in Science Course
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of inquiry-based learning method on students’ academic achievement in sciences lesson. A total of 40 fifth grade students from two different classes were involved in the study. They were selected through purposive sampling method. The group which was assigned as experimental group was instructed through inquiry-based learning method where...
متن کاملA Fast Method to Predict the Labeling of a Tree
Given an n vertex weighted tree with (structural) diameter SG and a set of ` vertices we give a method to compute the corresponding ` × ` Gram matrix of the pseudoinverse of the graph Laplacian in O(n+ `SG) time. We discuss the application of this method to predicting the labeling of a graph. Preliminary experimental results on a digit classification task are given.
متن کاملApplying the PR-EOS to Predict the Onset of Asphaltene Precipitation from n-Alkane Diluted Bitumens
Asphaltenes are the n-pentane or n-heptane insoluble fractions of crude oil that remain in solution under reservoir temperature and pressure conditions. They are destabilized and start to precipitate when the pressure, temperature and/or composition changes occur during primary production. The precipitated asphaltene particles will then grow in size and may start to deposit onto the product...
متن کاملPositive fantasies predict low academic achievement in disadvantaged students
Unlike other forms of positive thinking (e.g., expectations), research finds that positive fantasies (experiencing one’s thoughts and mental images about the future positively) predict low effort and little success in several domains. However, for vocational education students of low socioeconomic status and minority ethnicity, for whom the present environment is especially difficult, perhaps i...
