Array Codes for Functional PIR and Batch Codes
نویسندگان
چکیده
A functional PIR array code is a coding scheme which encodes some s information bits into t × m such that every linear combination of the has k mutually disjoint recovering sets. Every set consists array’s columns while it allowed to read at most l encoded from column in order receive requested bits. Functional batch codes impose stronger property where multiset request combinations Locality demand size restrained be r. Given values s, k, t, l, r, goal this paper study optimal value number these exist. Several lower bounds are presented as well explicit constructions for several parameters.

PIR Array Codes with Optimal PIR Rate
There has been much recent interest in Private information Retrieval (PIR) in models where a database is stored across several servers using coding techniques from distributed storage, rather than being simply replicated. In particular, a recent breakthrough result of Fazelli, Vardy and Yaakobi introduces the notion of a PIR code and a PIR array code, and uses this notion to produce efficient p...

Private information retrieval (PIR) is a way for clients to query a remote database without the database holder learning the clients’ query terms or the responses they generate. Compelling applications for PIR are abound in the cryptographic and privacy research literature, yet existing PIR techniques are notoriously inefficient. Consequently, no such PIRbased application to date has seen real-...

متن کاملBatch and PIR Codes and Their Connections to Locally-Repairable Codes
Two related families of codes are studied: batch codes and codes for private information retrieval. These two families can be viewed as natural generalizations of locally repairable codes, which were extensively studied in the context of coding for fault tolerance in distributed data storage systems. Bounds on the parameters of the codes, as well as basic constructions, are presented. Connectio...
متن کاملLinear Batch Codes
In an application, where a client wants to obtain many symbols from a large database, it is often desirable to balance the load. Batch codes (introduced by Ishai et al. in STOC 2004) do exactly that: the large database is divided between many servers, so that the client has to only make a small number of queries to every server to obtain sufficient information to reconstruct all desired symbols...
