چکیده

Abstract The detection of radiation emission in laser induced plasma experiments is an helpful method for gaining information on the physics laser-matter interaction. Time-of-Flight (TOF) approach a powerful and effective to obtain timely spectra particles accelerated from laser-generated plasma. To this respect, diamond-based detectors are very attractive due their interesting features such as fast signal collection time, proportional energy deposited by incident radiation, blindness visible high hardness low leakage current at room temperature operation. Unfortunately, they cannot supply discrimination species incoming ions, but only energies. This may be overcome using specific filtering foils exploit different stopping powers ions In work we describe distinguish array TOF diamond detectors. A first prototype array, consisting 2×2 detectors, nominally identical featuring aluminum filters thicknesses, was developed preliminary tested PALS facility Prague.

Calibration of time of flight detectors using laser-driven neutron source.

Calibration of three scintillators (EJ232Q, BC422Q, and EJ410) in a time-of-flight arrangement using a laser drive-neutron source is presented. The three plastic scintillator detectors were calibrated with gamma insensitive bubble detector spectrometers, which were absolutely calibrated over a wide range of neutron energies ranging from sub-MeV to 20 MeV. A typical set of data obtained simultan...

Zero dimensional model for determining particle and energy densities of P-11B fusion reaction in radiotherapy

Three alpha particles are emitted from the P-11B fusion reaction. Alpha particles play an important role in the death of cancer cells. When boron is accumulated in the tumor, protons irradiated out of body can react with the boron in the tumor. Also a fast gamma ray of 719 KeV beam is released from the P-11B fusion reaction which plays a useful role for us. This therapeutic approach includes fe...

First Applications of CVD-Diamond Detectors in Heavy-ion Experiments

Test measurements with 241Am-α-particles, 12C, 20Ne, 58Ni, 208Pb and 238U projectiles are performed. It is shown that the most important charactristics of heavy-ion diamond detectors are described by the shaping parameters of the detectors single pulse. Distributions of rise and decay times of the signals as well as of the associated charge amplitudes are discussed. An intrinsic time resolution...
