چکیده

Understanding plant water stress (PWS) in the soil-plant-atmosphere-continuum (SPAC) that connects supply from soil, demand atmosphere, and self-regulation is a prerequisite for efficient irrigation response to scarcity. Currently, PWS can be defined various ways, example, based on environmental factors and/or plant-centric metrics. The environment-based metrics usually do not take plants into consideration. Regarding existing metrics, their interconnections abilities capture physical constraints both soil atmospheric are still unclear. This research investigates theoretical foundations behind different assesses efficacy potentials scheduling. study first investigated among co-regulation of moisture vapor pressure deficit (VPD) through an advanced process-based model, ecosys. We then use ecosys test metrics’ performance guiding terms use, maize yield, economic profits. case was conducted at sites across dramatic rainfall gradient Nebraska, largest state United States Corn Belt. simulation indicates canopy potential stomatal conductance (gs) most effective SPAC system indicating PWS. In addition, our findings show using metrics-based schemes, which VPD, improve producers’ profits savings.

Using Activity Metrics for DEVS Simulation Profiling

Activity metrics can be used to profile DEVS models before and during the simulation. It is critical to get good activity metrics of models before and during their simulation. Having a means to compute a-priori activity of components (analytic activity) may be worth when simulating a model (or parts of it) for the first time. After, during the simulation, analytic activity can be corrected usin...

Modification of transient state analytical model under different saline groundwater depths, irrigation water salinities and deficit irrigation for quinoa

Salinization of soil is primarily caused by capillary rise from saline shallow groundwater orapplication of saline irrigation water. In this investigation, the transient state analytical modelwas modified to predict water uptake from saline shallow groundwater, actual cropevapotranspiration, soil water content, dry matter, seed yield and soil salinity under differentsaline groundwater depths, i...

Optical and Thermal Remote Sensing of Turfgrass Quality, Water Stress, and Water Use under Different Soil and Irrigation Treatments

Optical and thermal remote sensing data were acquired at ground level over several turfgrass species under different soil and irrigation treatments in northern Colorado, USA. Three vegetation indices (VIs), estimated based on surface spectral reflectance, were sensitive to the effect of reduced water application on turfgrass quality. The temperature-based Grass Water Stress Index (GWSI) was als...
