Assessing transformative change of infrastructures in urban area redevelopments

Urban redevelopments create opportunities for experimenting with innovative infrastructural solutions towards transformative urban change. Novel such as decentralised infrastructure systems can become essential strategies helping cities meet multiple sustainability outcomes. However, achieving change is a tremendous challenge given the obduracy of these large and complex systems. Assessing monitoring ongoing shift, needs to provide better understating how account systemic This paper addresses assessing in forward-looking systematic way. A conceptual assessment framework developed, which identifies key critical dimensions necessary assess potential context redevelopment areas. These include shaping new expectations/visions, establishment social networks, creation learning processes, institutional alignment, modes governance. The applied case study selected sites New Delhi, India. was found useful gaining differentiated understanding transformation process identifying strengths weaknesses within niche that potentially support or obstruct transition process.
