چکیده

The accuracy of brightness temperature (BT) from the Cross-track Infrared Sounder (CrIS) onboard Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (S-NPP) satellite and NOAA-20 is estimated using Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, Climate 2 (COSMIC-2) radio occultation (RO) wet retrievals (temperature water vapor profiles) as input to Community Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM). matchup criteria between RO CrIS observations are time less than 30 min, a distance 50 km, over oceans reduce collocation simulation uncertainty. Based on information provided in observations, only upper sounding channels with weighting function peak height (WFPH) above 200 hPa (~12 km) longwave infrared (LWIR) shortwave (SWIR) bands mid-wave (MWIR) band WFPH 500 (~6.3 selected comparison minimize impacts surface emission, cloud absorption/scattering, atmospheric gaseous absorption. absolute differences their CRTM simulations data 1.0 K majority those channels. double S-NPP transfer references very stable. They range −0.05 0.15 LWIR −0.20 0.10 SWIR during two years 1 October 2019 September 2021. For MWIR channels, −0.15 0.25 but have significant variations both daily mean monthly series. results provide ways understand qualities retrieval measurements: can be used assess consistency stability quantitatively, measurements quality retrievals.

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Cosmic Gps Radio Occultation: Neural Networks for Tropospheric Profiling over the Intertropical Ocean Area

Global Positioning System (GPS) radio-occultation (RO) is provided as a global sounding technique for obtaining atmospheric profiles by integrating them in global models for numerical weather prediction and for climate change studies. The radio occultation system employs GPS receivers placed on a Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite to sound the Earth’s troposphere and ionosphere evaluating the addi...

Space Weather Observations by GNSS Radio Occultation: From FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC to FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2

The joint Taiwan-United States FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC (Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate) mission, hereafter called COSMIC, is the first satellite constellation dedicated to remotely sense Earth's atmosphere and ionosphere using a technique called Global Positioning System (GPS) radio occultation (RO). The occultations yield abundant information about neutral at...

An Impact Assessment of GPS Radio Occultation Data on Prediction of a Rapidly Developing Cyclone over the Southern Ocean*

The impact of global positioning system (GPS) radio occultation (RO) data on an intense synoptic-scale storm that occurred over the Southern Ocean in December 2007 is evaluated, and a synoptic explanation of the assessed impact is offered. The impact is assessed by using the three-dimensional variational data assimilation scheme (3DVAR) of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model Data A...
