PDQRAP - Prioritized Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol
A new MAC layer protocol, DQRAP (Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol), provides performance with respect to throughput and delay that approaches that of an ideal protocol. This paper introduces PDQRAP, a prioritized version of DQRAP. Two formats, the Extra-bit and the Extra-slot, each a variation of the basic DQRAP are described. Simulation results are presented that show that under a t...
متن کاملPrioritized Access in a Channel-Hopping Network with Spectrum Sensing
We investigate the performance of priority-based access in a channel-hopping cognitive network, in particular the interaction between the number of packets each node is allowed to send in a single transmission cycle and the penalty coefficient that determines the amount of sensing to be done upon a successful transmission. Our results indicate that giving higher bandwidth allocation to low prio...
متن کاملAn Implicit Prioritized Access Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks
mainly periodic and need guaranteed bounded delay; Recent advances in wireless technology have brought us closer to the vision of pervasive computing where sensors/actuators can be connected through a wireless network. Due to cost constraints and the dynamic nature of sensor networks, it is undesirable to assume the existence of base stations connected by a wired backbone. In this paper, we pre...
متن کاملRude-CSMA: A Multihop Channel Access Protocol
In this paper, we define a two-parameter family of protocols designed for multihop packet radio networks. We call these protocols rude-CSMA because under certain circumstances, maximum throughput is obtained when nodes, even after sensing a busy channel, transmit packets anyway with a nonzero rate. The performance of these protocols is analyzed for various special and random topologies.
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of IEEE802.16e Random Access Protocol with Mobility
In this paper, the performance of IEEE802.16e random access protocol with handover procedure is examined in terms of access throughput and mean access delay, by using equilibrium point analysis(EPA). In the analysis, retransmission probability, which is a typical input parameter in the literature so far, is iteratively obtained from equilibrium number of backlogs in the system in conjunction wi...
