Automatic Calibration Module for an Urban Drainage System Model

The purpose of the study was to present an automated module for calibration urban drainage system models. A prepared tool based on Open Water Analytics toolkit included 12 additional parameters as compared existing similar solutions. a gradient optimization method that allowed adjustment up five simultaneously, and trial-and-error provided possibility testing one or two parameters. user interface built in MS Excel simplify use developed tool. can select preferable calibration, choose method, determine limits calculated values. performance functionality automatic tested scenarios using model 10 ha heavily area Tallinn, Estonia. results revealed maximum deviation between modelled measured flow rates less than 5% both cases. This is reasonably good fit models, which typically encounter numerous uncertainties. Therefore, it concluded be successfully used calibrating hydraulic models created SWMM5.
