Autonomous Weapons Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and the Problem of Meaningful Human Control

In this article, I explore the (im)possibility of human control and question presupposition that we can be morally adequately or meaningfully in over AI-supported LAWS. Taking seriously Wiener’s warning “machines do transcend some limitations their designers doing so they may both effective dangerous,” argue LAWS human-machine complex, technological features underlying logic AI system progressively close spaces limit capacities required for moral agency.
