چکیده
This study aims to find the location of lightning return strokes using a single station electromagnetic field sensor with implementation magnetic Factor B correction best match reliable strike reference from TNB Research (TNBR) that uses Vaisala detector ±500m tolerance. A parallel plate antenna was used measure electric fields while two orthogonal loop antennas were thunderstorms in Melaka. Based on type Cloud-to-Ground flash and its recorded peak amplitude polarities, general direction source could be determined four quadrants divided equally between cardinal directions. Measurement stroke amplitudes waveforms, distance measurement determined. corrections varied 53M 69M where separation compared strikes averaged 3.22 km. Electromagnetic Field Due to Lightning Strikes to Mountainous Ground
The produced electric and magnetic fields due to lightning strikes to mountainous ground are determined in this paper. For the sake of simplicity a cone-shaped ground with finite conductivity is assumed to represent a natural nonflat ground. By this assumption, we deal with an axillary symmetrical structure so we use the cylindrical 2D-FDTD to save the simulation memory and time, dramatically. ...
متن کاملNear-field/far-field azimuth and elevation angle estimation using a single vector hydrophone
This paper introduces a new underwater acoustic eigenstructure ESPRIT-based algorithm that yields closed-form direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimates using a single vector hydrophone. A vector hydrophone is composed of two or three spatially co-located but orthogonally oriented velocity hydrophones plus another optional co-located pressure hydrophone. This direction finding algorithm may (under mo...

متن کاملLocation of lightning discharges from a single station
A new computer-based ELF/VLF system for locating lightning discharges has been developed. Both the arrival azimuths of atmospherics and the distances to their sources are estimated. The direction-finding technique uses the Poynting vector calculated directly in the time domain over the full band pass of the receiver. Both the distance of the lightning discharge and the ionospheric height can be...

This paper introduces a novel eigenstructure-based algorithm uni-vector-sensor ESPRIT that yields closed-form direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimates and polarization estimates using one electromagnetic vector sensor. A vector sensor is composed of six spatially co-located nonisotropic polarizationsensitive antennas, measuring all six electromagnetic field components of the incident wave field. Un...
