چکیده
Bamboo, globally renowned as being one of the fastest-growing plants in world with versatile applications, has gained increasing attention during past decades. It is used by millions people around globe a biomass resource for energy production, timber furniture making, food industry and many more. So far, on Island Mauritius, little to no consideration been given this fascinating plant. This paper presents physical chemical properties two species bamboo—Bambusia vulgaris Bambusia bambos, compared sugarcane bagasse bio-energy production. Ten samples each were tested gross calorific value (GCV), moisture, ash chloride content. The results show that both have very good potential recovery GCV 16.77 MJ/kg 17.44 are valuable sources an average energetic yield 717.8 GJ/ha/yr 1587.1 respectively. In comparison, was found be 18.33 824.9 GJ/ha/yr. Simultaneously, research survey community acceptance perception Mauritian citizens towards utilisation bamboo alternative fossil fuels production conducted via semi-structured questionnaires. questionnaires administered total 54 respondents. 3 women men randomly interviewed 9 districts island. participants much aware issues related exploitation support use implementation renewable Eighty percent supported overall generation mix bold move lessen their ecological footprint.

Woody Biomass Sustainability for Bioenergy Production in West Virginia
West Virginia is the third most heavily forested state in the U.S. and produces 2.41 million dry tons of wood residues annually. These wood wastes are sustainable and can be used as feedstock for biofuels, bio-gas and green electricity. Biomass sustainability, efficient harvesting, extraction, and transportation of woody biomass are the key to the economic success of wood residue utilization. T...
متن کاملEvaluation of biomass quality in short-rotation bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) for bioenergy products
BACKGROUND In order to improve the availability of biomass, the concept of growing high yield biomass with short rotations and intensive culture has been introduced. Bamboo has become a feedstock of potential interest for future energy production due to its high productivity and short rotation time. The growth age of biomass is an important factor affecting the efficiency of bioconversion and p...
متن کاملAn Integrated Biomass Production and Conversion Process for Sustainable Bioenergy
s: There is not enough land for the current bioenergy production process because of its low annual yield per unit land. In the present paper, an integrated biomass production and conversion process for sustainable bioenergy is proposed and analyzed. The wastes from the biomass conversion process, including waste water, gas and solid are treated or utilized by the biomass production process in t...
متن کاملSustainable Nutrient Management Package for Cost-effective Bioenergy Biomass Production
Commercial fertilizer (particularly nitrogen) costs account for a substantial portion of the total production costs of cellulosic biomass and can be a major obstacle to biofuel production. In a series of greenhouse studies, we evaluated the feasibility of co-applying Gibberellins (GA) and reduced nitrogen (N) rates to produce a bioenergy crop less expensively. In a preliminary study, we determi...
