BARKAT: A NEW HIGH FODDER YIELDING OAT (AVENA SATIVA L.) VARIETY WITH BETTER NUTRITIONAL VALUE
نویسندگان
چکیده
Oats are utilized primarily as feed for domestic animals and is also fourth most important cereal crop of the world. The Fodder Research Center, Sargodha, used conventional breeding techniques to generate general cultivar "Barkat" oat (Avena sativa L.). It will be launched in 2021. "FRI-01" commercial a highly uniform off spring crosses between parental accessions (No. 970 No. 288) subsequent selections multiple segregating populations (F2 through F6) using pedigree procedures. outperformed check "Sargodha-Oat 2011" by 10% 12.76% forage yield during 2014-2015 2015-2016 station trials, respectively, 13.32% fodder 2016-17 at zonal level. late-maturing green that produces light brown seed has tall, multi-tillering plant form. gave 7.13% higher 2017-18 22.38% increase over variety 2018-19 national trials. Forage qualities include high palatability (85%), protein content (10.6%), tolerance biotic abiotic stresses. flowers bloom roughly ten days after reference variety. Barkat (FRI-01) sown on 1st October 15th highest comparison with other tested sowing dates while maximum 87 ton ha-1 80 kg per ha rate 30 cm row spacing. extremely valuable cultivars both irrigated desert region Punjab Province due its yield, great palatability, contents than standard check, stress. Also, can serve line future efforts enhance genetics.

متن کاملMechanisms of oat (Avena sativa L.) acclimation to phosphate deficiency
Background Deficiency of available forms of phosphorus is common in most soils and causes reduction of crop plants growth and yield. Recently, model plants responses to phosphate (Pi) deficiency have been intensively studied. However, acclimation mechanisms of cereals like oat (Avena sativa L.), to low Pi stress remains not fully understood. Oat plants have been usually cultured on poor soils, ...
متن کاملMacro and Micro Element Contents of Several Oat (Avena sativa L.) Genotype and Variety Grains
In the current study, macro and microelement contents of oat grains were determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES). P contents of grains were found between 2428.72 mg/kg (Arslanbey) and 4557.25 mg/kg (TL10). While K contents of oat samples change between 3055.99 mg/kg (TL63) and 5621.12 mg/kg (TL8), Ca contents of oats ranged from 568.50 mg/kg (TL63) to...
متن کاملDiscrimination of the closely related A and D genomes of the hexaploid oat Avena sativa L.
A satellite DNA sequence, As120a, specific to the A-genome chromosomes in the hexaploid oat, Avena sativa L., was isolated by subcloning a fragment with internal tandem repeats from a plasmid, pAs120, that had been obtained from an Avena strigosa (As genome) genomic library. Southern and in situ hybridization showed that sequences with homology to sequences within pAs120 were dispersed througho...
متن کاملA major gene for grain cadmium accumulation in oat (Avena sativa L.).
Cadmium (Cd) is a nonessential heavy metal that is highly toxic to living cells at very low concentrations. Most of the Cd in plants derives from soils. Owing to the large amounts consumed, cereals are the major source of dietary Cd, and Cd content in oat can exceed accepted limits. Plants have a set of mechanisms that control the uptake, accumulation, trafficking, and detoxification of Cd and ...
