Behavioral Investigation of Reinforced Concrete T-Beams with Distributed Reinforcement in the Tension Flange

Current design codes and specifications allow for part of the bonded flexure tension reinforcement to be distributed over an effective flange width when T-beams' flanges are in tension. This study presents experimental numerical investigation on reinforced concrete flanged section's flexural behavior is laterally distributed. To achieve goals study, analysis using finite element method was conducted discretized beam models validated via experimentally tested T-beam specimen. Parametric performed investigate effect different parameters T-beams behavior. The revealed that a significant reduction strength with increasing deflection encountered as sizable percentage wider width. recommended not more than 33% may ℓn/10. result confirms agrees well ACI 318 limit less
