Between grammars and descriptive traditions

چکیده
The Polish Lexicon of Japanese Grammar Terms was published in 2021. It constitutes an attempt at a systemic description grammar, not emphasized by most grammatical sources on the language. Due to limited size paper, being new research but same time introducing methodology lexicon, main concepts related its compilation are presented example topic-prominence phenomenon and morphological marking.

Global Index Grammars and Descriptive Power
We review the properties of Global Index Grammars (GIGs), a grammar formalism that uses a stack of indices associated with productions and has restricted context-sensitive power. We show how the control of the derivation is performed and how this impacts in the descriptive power of this formalism both in the string languages and the structural descriptions that GIGs can generate. 1.
متن کاملSimilarities Between String Grammars and Graph Grammars
In this paper, we present some studies about relations existing between well known Chomsky string grammars and graph grammars, in particularly hypergraph grammars. We are discussing about deterministic context free Lindenmayer Systems used to describe commands to a device that generates black and white digital images. Instead of well-known methods of drawing, we will paint squares, not lines. A...
متن کاملModeling the Complexity and Descriptive Adequacy of Construction Grammars
This paper uses the Minimum Description Length paradigm to model the complexity of CxGs (operationalized as the encoding size of a grammar) alongside their descriptive adequacy (operationalized as the encoding size of a corpus given a grammar). These two quantities are combined to measure the quality of potential CxGs against unannotated corpora, supporting discovery-device CxGs for English, Sp...
متن کاملHybrid Type-Logical Grammars, First-Order Linear Logic and the Descriptive Inadequacy of Lambda Grammars
Hybrid type-logical grammars (Kubota & Levine 2012, Kubota & Levine 2013c, Kubota & Levine 2013a) are a relatively new framework in computational linguistics, which combines insights from the Lambek calculus (Lambek 1958) and lambda grammars (Oehrle 1994, Muskens 2001, Muskens 2003)— lambda grammars are also called, depending on the authors, abstract categorial grammars (de Groote 2001) and lin...
