Bilateral Thalamic Infarction Related to Artery of Percheron with Microembolic Signal

The artery of Percheron (AOP) is an uncommon variant the posterior cerebral that supplies blood to paramedian thalamus and rostral midbrain. AOP often difficult recognize with intracranial magnetic resonance angiography due its small size. Although a number case reports occlusion have been published, cause mostly unclear. We experienced which resulted in bilateral thalamic infarction. It was most likely caused by microembolism through right-left shunt.
