Schiff bases are the compounds containing azomethine group (-HC=N-). They formed by condensation of ketones or aldehydes with a primary amine. Formation base generally takes place under acid/base catalysis heat. The common crystalline solids, which basic but at least some form insoluble salts strong acids. used as intermediates for synthesis amino acids ligands preparation metal complexes having series different structures. electrophilic carbon and nucleophilic nitrogen in C=N imine bond provide excellent binding opportunities nucleophiles electrophiles thereby inhibiting targeted diseases, enzymes DNA replication. These synthesized from various amines stirring conditions, catalyst-free, reflux microwave irradiation ultrasonic conditions. serve wide range applications pharmaceutical industries well chemical industries. There biological activities exhibited these include antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral antioxidant activities. Apart exhibiting medicinal properties, play an important role coordination chemistry. Thus, their derivatives may be further enormous potent effects.
