Biomonitoring of occupational exposure to bisphenol A, bisphenol S and bisphenol F: A systematic review

چکیده

Bisphenol A (BPA) and its substitutes bisphenol S (BPS) F (BPF) are endocrine disrupting chemicals widely used in the production of polycarbonate plastics, epoxy resins thermal papers. The aim review was to identify occupational studies using human biomonitoring (HBM) as a tool for exposure assessment characterize research gaps on topic part HBM4EU project. Hence, systematic literature search Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology conducted articles published between 2000 27th March 2020 across three databases (PubMed, Scopus Web Science). Thirty HBM BPA met inclusion criteria. Regarding BPS BPF, only 4 2 publications were retrieved, respectively. Fifty-seven percent (57%) selected Asia whereas half BPF undertaken Europe. Studies plastic resin sectors infrequent Europe while Asian data showed higher when substance is employed raw material. main among cashiers available from incinerator workers. Several have been identified: (i) shortage exposure, especially BPF; (ii) different methodological designs making suitable comparisons difficult; (iii) few industrial applications bisphenols outside Asia. This highlights lack recent need harmonized approach acquire reliable data. Considering increasing replacement by it relevance evaluate these substances impact risk management measures workers possible health risk. • Review BPA, BPF. Further tools needed. Harmonized sample collection analysis required. Future work needs consider co-exposure several bisphenols. Workplace contribution overall should also be provided.

Biodegradation of Bisphenol A, Bisphenol F and Bisphenol S in Seawater

A group of compounds structurally similar to bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane (bisphenol A, BPA) are called bisphenols (BPs), and some of them can partially replace BPA in industrial applications. The production and consumption of BPs other than BPA, especially those of bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)methane (bisphenol F, BPF) and bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone (bisphenol S, BPS), have increased recently, leading...

Bisphenol S and F: A Systematic Review and Comparison of the Hormonal Activity of Bisphenol A Substitutes

BACKGROUND Increasing concern over bisphenol A (BPA) as an endocrine-disrupting chemical and its possible effects on human health have prompted the removal of BPA from consumer products, often labeled "BPA-free." Some of the chemical replacements, however, are also bisphenols and may have similar physiological effects in organisms. Bisphenol S (BPS) and bisphenol F (BPF) are two such BPA substi...

Human Exposures to Bisphenol A, Bisphenol F and Chlorinated Bisphenol A Derivatives and Thyroid Function

Although the increasing prevalence of thyroid nodular disease (TND) has been partially attributed to the more frequent usage of improved diagnostics, environmental factors, such as exposures to thyroid-disrupting chemicals may contribute to TND and altered thyroid function. We investigated the association between exposures to bisphenol A (BPA), its chlorinated derivatives (ClxBPA), and bispheno...

Bisphenol-A analogue (bisphenol-S) exposure alters female reproductive tract and apoptosis/oxidative gene expression in blastocyst-derived cells

Objective(s): One of the major endocrine-disrupting chemicals, Bisphenol-S (BPS) has replaced bisphenol-A due to public health anxiety. The present study evaluated low dosage BPS effect on female reproductive potential, hormonal disruption, and gene expression pathways of blastocyst-derived cells.Materials and Methods: NMRI female mice (...

Occupational exposure of cashiers to Bisphenol A via thermal paper: urinary biomonitoring study

PURPOSE As an essential component of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins, Bisphenol A (BPA) is found in numerous industrial and consumer products. BPA may cause adverse health effects because of its endocrine activity. General population exposure to this compound mainly through diet is well documented. Thermal paper was also identified as a source of BPA through dermal intake. In this study...
