Bleomycin Concentration in Patients’ Plasma and Tumors after Electrochemotherapy. A Study from InspECT Group

نویسندگان

چکیده

The plasma concentration profile of bleomycin in the distribution phase patients younger than 65 years is needed to determine suitable time interval for efficient application electric pulses during electrochemotherapy. Additionally, concentrations treated tumors effective tumor response are not known. In this study, pharmacokinetic 12 was determined. 17 patients, intratumoral determined before pulses. pharmacokinetics intravenously injected demonstrated a faster clearance rate that older years. This outcome might indicate lowering standard dose 15,000 IU/m2 with intravenous injection electrochemotherapy recommended patients. Based on data gathered, 5–15 min after median 8 injection, at electroporation, 170 ng/g. collected data, reduction patients; however, shortened should be considered.

Electrochemotherapy with bleomycin - a resume of published clinical trials

Introduction Electroporation is characteristed by the use of short, high voltage pulses which transiently permeabilize the cell membrane. As electroporation can be used to introduce various molecules directly into the cell cytosol, an obvious use has been to introduce chemotherapeutic drugs directly into cancer cells (electrochemotherapy). Many chemotherapeutic drugs are lipophilic and enter ce...
