Blockwise Phase Rotation-Aided Analog Transmit Beamforming for 5G mmWave Systems

In this letter, we propose a blockwise phase rotation-aided analog transmit beamforming (BPR-ATB) scheme to improve the spectral efficiency and bit-error-rate (BER) performance in millimeter wave (mmWave) communication systems. Due angle optimization issues of conventional beamforming, design BPR-ATB for reducing rotated beamspace equivalent channel improving minimum Euclidean distance. To verify effectiveness proposed scheme, employ an Alamouti coding technique at transmitter evaluate mmWave multiple-input single-output The simulation results show that outperforms discrete Fourier transform-based ATB scheme.
