چکیده

This paper investigates a chemostat model with wall growth and Haldane consumption kinetics. In addition, bounded random fluctuations on the input flow, which are modeled by means of well-known Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process, considered to obtain much more realistic fitting in better way phenomena observed practitioners real devices. Once existence uniqueness global positive solution has been proved, as well deterministic absorbing attracting sets, dynamics inside set is studied detail provide conditions under persistence species ensured, main goal pursued from practical point view. Finally, we support theoretical results several numerical simulations.

The Simple Chemostat with Wall Growth

A model of the simple chemostat which allows for growth on the wall (or other marked surface) is presented as three nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The organisms which are attached to the wall do not wash out of the chemostat. This destroys the basic reduction of the chemostat equations to a monotone system, a technique which has been useful in the analysis of many chemostat-like equ...

The Buffered Chemostat with Non-Monotonic Response Functions

We show how a particular spatial structure with a buffer globally stabilizes the chemostat dynamics with non-monotonic response function, while this is not possible with single, serial or parallel chemostats of the same total volume and input flow. We give a characterization of the set of such configurations that satisfy this property, as well as the configuration that ensures the best nutrient...

Microbial Competition in Reactors with Wall Attachment: A Comparison of Chemostat and Plug Flow Models

The indigenous microflora of the human large intestine is a complex ecosystem consisting of several hundred species of microorganisms [5]. The composition of the microflora is remarkably stable; the species coexist without one or a few becoming dominant [12]. One of its most important contributions to the host is its ability to impede the colonization of the intestinal tract by nonindigenous mi...

Microbial Competition in Reactors with Wall Attachment: A Mathematical Comparison of Chemostat and Plug Flow Models

Competition for nutrient and the ability of bacteria to colonize the gut wall are factors believed to play a role in the observed stability of the indigenous microbiota of the mammalian large intestine. These factors were incorporated into the two-strain continuous-stirred tank reactor (CSTR) model formulated and numerically investigated by Freter et al. In their model simulations, the reactor ...
