Buckling analysis of laminated composite thin-walled I-beam under mechanical and thermal loads

Despite the extensive use of thin-walled structures, studies on their behaviours when exposed to extreme thermal environment are relatively scarce. Therefore, this paper aims present buckling analysis composite I-beams under thermo-mechanical loads. The effects investigated for case studied beams undergoing a uniform temperature rise through thickness. theory is based first-order shear deformation beam with linear variation displacements in wall governing equations motion derived from Hamilton's principle and solved by series-type solutions hybrid shape functions. Numerical results presented investigate fibre angle, material distribution, span-to-height's ratio critical load rise. These several cases verified available references demonstrate model’s accuracy.
