Bus ridership and its determinants in Beijing: A spatial econometric perspective

Abstract Understanding the temporal and spatial dynamics determinants of public transport ridership play an important role in urban planning. Previous studies have focused on exploring at station level using global models, or a local model, geographically weighted regression (GWR), which cannot reveal autocorrelation level. This study explores factors affecting bus considering Durbin model (SDM). Taking community Beijing as basic unit, this aims to explore identify its key neighboring effects. The results show following: (1) are quite distinct weekdays weekends well different time slots day.
