Bypassing institutional barriers: New types of transit-oriented development in China

چکیده
China is often viewed as an emerging experimental base for transit-oriented development (TOD) practices because of its rapid urban growth and mass transit networks. The implementation TOD can be heavily influenced by institutional barriers to growth. However, some newly types practice allow planners decision-makers bypass the achieve a certain degree integrated development. Current academic literature, however, has little say on how these informal solutions go around barriers. This article aims fill this gap examining three different applied in Guangzhou Shenzhen. We analysed compared origins effects abovementioned arrangements under entrepreneurial governance. found that land value capturing replace existing governance mode which local government relies revenue from land-leasing realise better integration conclude with several suggestions reform based new experiments.
