چکیده

Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Aims. Combined cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) and stress echocardiography (ESE) provides a non-invasive tool to study pathophysiology. We analyzed how cardiac functional reserve during relates peak oxygen consumption (VO2). Methods Results. performed symptom-limited graded ramp bicycle CPET-ESE in 30 healthy controls 357 patients: 113 at risk developing heart failure (American College Cardiology/American Heart Association HF Stages A-B) 244 Stage C with preserved (HFpEF, n = 101) or reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF, 143). Peak VO2 significantly decreased from A-B (Table 1). A multivariable regression model predict revealed left ventricular systolic annulus tissue velocity (S"), TAPSE/PAPs (tricuspid annular plane excursion/systolic pulmonary artery pressure) low-load atrial reservoir strain/E/e’ were independent predictors, addition rate, stroke volume workload (adjusted R²=0.76, p < 0.0001). The was successfully tested subjects fibrillation (n 49), 224) without 163) beta-blockers (all 0.01). S’ showed the highest accuracy predicting 10 mL/kg/min (cut-point ≤ 7.5 cm/s; AUC 0.92, 0.0001) > 20 12.5 0.84, comparison other variables (p 0.05). Conclusions. incorporating different measures mechanics is strongly related aerobic capacity may help identifying causes effort intolerance C. Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing

Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) allows the clinician to objectively evaluate symptoms and important functions. CPET also arms the investigator with a powerful tool to better understand the respiratory system role as an engaged participant of a fully integrated physiologic system in humans. The insights gained mean that CPET can aid in the assessment of activity limitation and dyspnea, i...

Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing

Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) is important for the differential diagnosis of dyspnoea-fatigue syndromes. The test more typically includes measurements of ventilation (VE), carbon dioxide output (VCO2), and oxygen uptake (VO2) at a progressively increased workload (W) until a maximum VO2, called VO2max or VO2peak to define aerobic exercise capacity, but steady state evaluations have ut...

Assessing Exercise Limitation Using Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing

The cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) is an important physiological investigation that can aid clinicians in their evaluation of exercise intolerance and dyspnea. Maximal oxygen consumption ([Formula: see text]) is the gold-standard measure of aerobic fitness and is determined by the variables that define oxygen delivery in the Fick equation ([Formula: see text] = cardiac output × arterial-v...

Cardiac reserve mobilization trend during exercise and recovery after exercise

Objective: Little is known about the cardiac contractility recovery after exercise. The objective of the study was to explore a method to evaluate the extent and speed of cardiac function up-regulation during exercise and the recovery course of cardiac contractility and heart rate after exercise. Methods: Ten student athletes and ten student non-athlete voluntarily participated in this controll...

Role of right ventricle and dynamic pulmonary hypertension on determining ΔVO2/ΔWork Rate flattening: insights from cardiopulmonary exercise test combined with exercise echocardiography.

BACKGROUND Several cardiovascular diseases are characterized by an impaired O2 kinetic during exercise. The lack of a linear increase of Δoxygen consumption (VO2)/ΔWork Rate (WR) relationship, as assessed by expired gas analysis, is considered an indicator of abnormal cardiovascular efficiency. We aimed at describing the frequency of ΔVO2/ΔWR flattening in a symptomatic population of cardiac pa...
